I have had an interesting, humbling, blessed, and difficult last 2 years, in which I would not trade for anything! I have loved, lost and gained! No experience that I have faced has fallen on deaf ears nor has it fallen on a dead heart. I am thankful that I have been able to receive every heartache that I have experienced with an open heart to hear and to learn; and more importantly to grow.
Nonetheless, this growth has not come without people and situations that have tried to derail my view from what God has used to grow me. There have been individuals that have had me in their crosshairs and have actively sought to destroy me as an individual, my business and my spirit.
This is not being said to puff up my importance nor value in any situation, I say this because a friend once reminded me that the Bible says, “No weapon formed against you will prosper” (Isaiah 54:17). Though the entire scripture has great importance, what my friend highlighted in this scripture is that even though the weapon formed against me will not prosper, the weapon will be formed nonetheless!
People will come up against me and you telling us we are not good enough, they will lie and tell half truths about situations that you have faced and lie about the details which surround the actual truth, they will poison your friends’ groups, your family and your professional community with gossip. You will lose friends, colleagues, and family bonds will be broken; but you will not break!
You will remain steady in your belief, and you will receive their insidious, vile attempts to harm you like a fine wine or a priceless gift. You will receive their attempts in this manner, because they see what you do not see in yourself; they see your greatness and beauty which their harmful words have worked to blind you from seeing! Knowing this, you will not reply nor bat an eye. You will walk in humility, grace and in peace. Even when you feel broken by their attempts, you will be strengthened by the God who created you, who has provided you a support system of those who will remind you of who you are, where you have come from and where you are going.
You will remember that there is no use coming up against anything or anyone who has truly deemed you as worthless. You will see that thoughts of you are occupied in the mind of someone who claims to hate you; and this is a testament to your true value and of their pain.
Knowing this, your only response will be that of love; because there is no use in only loving those who love you, even your enemies love those who love them. You will be guided by the truth that perfect love casts out all fear, doubt, insecurities, trauma and pain and you will be strengthened!
And at the end of it all, you will find your joy and you will take and claim that joy! You will continue down the road that was promised and meant for you. You will remember that you are loved, you are chosen, you are seen and when you walk in these truths, you will again remember that surely goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of your life!
