My name is Negin, and I am a Licensed Master of Clinical Social Work (LMSW). My journey into the world of social work began after I transitioned from a career in Radiology, which I pursued in my home country of Iran. Upon moving to the United States as a green card holder 11 years ago, I chose to focus on psychology and eventually earned my Master of Social Work from Highland University, graduating with a 3.96 GPA.
Having experienced the diversity of life in New Mexico and becoming attuned to the cultural dynamics of various groups, I recognize the importance of communication, empathy, and understanding in addressing individual and family conflicts. My philosophy as a clinician is grounded in honesty, persistence, and compassion. I believe that when I combine these traits with a commitment to lifelong learning and a deep desire to advocate for those in need, I can make a meaningful impact on the lives of my clients and their families.
In my practice, I am passionate about working with individuals of all ages—youth, teenagers, children, and adults—alongside their families. I often find that communication breakdowns are a central issue in many conflicts, and I approach therapy with a client-centered philosophy. While Client-Centered Therapy forms the foundation of my work, I also draw on other therapeutic methods based on the cognitive needs of my clients. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with highly functional individuals, Motivational Therapy with youth and substance users, and Crisis Therapy and Talk Therapy when appropriate.
As a curious and empathetic person, I am eager to understand the unique stories of each client and work with them to find practical and logical solutions to their challenges. Though my formal experience includes working extensively with individuals impacted by substance use, I have developed flexibility, patience, and clear boundaries as a therapist. Through my practice, Negin's Counseling for Everyone, I strive to provide a safe, adaptable, and inclusive space for all clients.
