Hello, my name is Jenny McKinney, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor serving the community in San Juan County. I graduated from New Mexico Highlands University with my Masters in Professional Counseling and School Counseling. Since 2012, I have worked as an elementary school counselor, a middle school counselor, and now a contract therapist with Faith Works.

I enjoy working with diverse populations, couples, families and individuals that are invested in their own personal growth. I am most experienced working with children and adolescents and enjoy challenging young minds through building self-awareness, resilience, and confidence while utilizing their resources, skills and goals.  My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space while coming alongside my clients as we process painful or difficult experiences, build insight, find meaning, teach coping skills and set goals for the future. I believe in treating the whole person, mind, body and spirit. I integrate cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma informed care (if needed), Christian faith-based principals, while taking a strengths-based approach to serve my clients.
